Dear Donor,

My name is Diego. I play the soprano clarinet in the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO). The EYSO is collecting donations as part of our annual fundraising campaign: instrument NOTES. This campaign runs from January 26 to April 5. The purpose of the campaign is to help keep tuition affordable for EYSO members by encouraging EYSO families to collect donations from friends, family, co-workers, neighbors--and you! All contributions to the EYSO are tax deductible, as allowable by law.

This year, we are celebrating our 44th season with the theme MOVE! We have five orchestras, a brass choir, two percussion ensembles, and a chamber music program with nearly 350 students from fourth grade through college. We perform three concerts each year, and each concert explores a different connection between music and movement. You can learn more about us at EYSO.org.

I enjoy being in this program for a few reasons.The first reason I enjoy the program is because of extended musical learning.The way the music we play is expressed has been through enrapturing movements and unforgettable sentiments when playing the music.Being in person, together with my dedicated and talented peers especially teaches me a lot.Even being remotely far away from the college, Elgin Youth Symphony offers a tremendous educational experience for young orchestral musicians like us.Lastly, I enjoy being at EYSO for the involvement and subjects the music dives into.Many days, I discover with my peers some deep aspects of the variety and especially the energy of music.

Tuition covers only one-third of the total cost of each member’s participation in EYSO. Our NOTES campaign helps keep tuition reasonable and offsets program costs.

Please consider donating to EYSO to help us meet our goal. More importantly, it will help benefit everyone in EYSO.

You can donate online by credit card via my campaign page or mail a check to me directly. Once the NOTES campaign is completed, you will receive a donation acknowledgement from EYSO for tax purposes. The campaign runs until April 5.
