Dear Potential Donors,

My name is Axel Aguilera, and I am a clarinetist and a member of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra. The EYSO is collecting donations as a part of our annual fundraising campaign: NOTES. This campaign runs from January 6 to April 5. The purpose of the campaign is to help keep the tuition affordable for more EYSO members by encouraging families to seek donations from friends, family, and others. You can also donate! All donations to the EYSO are tax deductible and are allowed by law.

I am wondering if you are willing to donate to the EYSO.

The EYSO is a spectacular organization designed to provide an advanced orchestral experience to young musicians and encourages them to spread their musical horizons. The EYSO also has an annual theme that revolves around a certain musical aspect; this year, the theme is MOVE! The EYSO is comprised of five orchestras, a brass choir, two percussion ensembles, and a chamber music institute. In total, there are around 350 students from fourth grade to college. We perform three concerts every year, and each concert correlates to the theme between the music and movement. If you would like to know more information, visit EYSO.org.

I really enjoy participating in the EYSO as it is my first time participating in a youth orchestra and I am able to play well-known orchestral repertoire at a very high level. I have learned to be more creative and thoughtful about the music I am playing and how I can connect it back to the theme of movement. Currently, the EYSO is focusing on the theme of ballet and how the dance form plays a large part in modern music.

Tuition only covers one-third of the total cost of each member’s participation in EYSO. Our NOTES campaign plays a large role in keeping tuition reasonable and offsets program costs.

Please consider donating to the EYSO to help us meet our overall goal. More importantly, it will help benefit everyone in EYSO and it will make their time more memorable.
