$340 towards $250

I am a part of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO), which is now collecting donations as part of our annual fundraising event: the NOTES campaign. This campaign runs until April 5. The purpose of the campaign is to help keep tuition affordable for EYSO members by encouraging EYSO families to collect donations from friends, family, co-workers, neighbors--and you! All contributions to the EYSO are tax deductible, as allowable by law.

Would you, or someone you know, be willing to donate to EYSO?

This year, we are celebrating our 44th season with the theme MOVE! We have five orchestras, a brass choir, two percussion ensembles, and a chamber music program with nearly 350 students from fourth grade through college. We perform three concerts each year, and each concert explores a different connection between music and movement. You can learn more about us at EYSO.org.

Being a part of EYSO means a lot to me, as it is an opportunity that is not offered everywhere. The ability to play in a full symphony orchestra each week is a blessing whose benefits I cannot overstate. Playing in EYSO means that you go above and beyond the status quo of high school music playing, and are invested in musical success of the program. Each week we learn from each other, through acute listening and applying what is being taught to our own development, which entails being constantly focused. This creates a wonderful learning environment where each member is as invested as the next, and I hope that this can continue to thrive with the support of your donations.

Tuition covers only one-third of the total cost of each member’s participation in EYSO. Our NOTES campaign helps keep tuition reasonable and offsets program costs.

Please consider donating to EYSO to help Youth Symphony meet its goal. More importantly, it will help benefit everyone in EYSO by funding the future of the program and opening up the doors to more students each year. You can make checks payable to EYSO, or cash is accepted. If you are able to donate, I would need the donation by April 4th to deliver them the following day at the end of the campaign.

Once the NOTES campaign is completed, you will receive a donation acknowledgement from EYSO for tax purposes. The campaign runs until April 5.

Thank you very much for your consideration!
