Thanks for stopping by!

The Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra is currently collecting donations as part of its annual fundraising event, the NOTES campaign. Our goal is to collectively raise $60,000. This campaign runs until this April 1st, and its purpose is to help EYSO continue to inspire artistry, confidence, and curiosity in young musicians. Would you or someone you know be willing to donate?

The 2020 Season

We are celebrating our 44th season with the theme MOVE, which explores movement through time, space, and energy. We have the incredible privilege of working with Elgin's acclaimed Ballet Folklórico Huehuecoyotl and Joffrey Ballet artist Luis Vazquez.

The EYSO Difference

One of the many reasons I love EYSO is that everything we do is interactive and engaging. We are, on the very surface level, a youth orchestra, but we continually expand on ideas and concepts related to our music. With this season's heavy emphasis on dance, our director has skillfully woven together movement and music during rehearsals. We've practiced pliés and walked to rhythmic patterns, among other activities, all with the intention of presenting music as an art form and full experience. And most importantly, EYSO helps to create active and upstanding young members of society.

EYSO's Reach

EYSO is a significant part of many students' lives. There are five orchestras, a brass choir, two percussion ensembles, and a chamber music program with around 350 students from fourth grade through college. Because the program is so extensive, tuition only makes up about 1/3 of the cost needed to keep EYSO running smoothly, which is why donations are essential!

How to Donate

You can donate right here, on this page! Otherwise, you can send cash or a check to me directly, made payable to EYSO. Again, this campaign runs until April 1st, 2020.

Thank you so much for your support!
