$350 towards $250

Every Sunday, I participate in an extracurricular orchestra located in Elgin, which is an amazing experience for me. Throughout the week, I practice and listen to the pieces we are playing in preparation for our weekly rehearsal. Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestras (EYSO) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. It means that EYSO's money comes from donations, not investments. EYSO is holding a fundraiser called the NOTES Campaign, which aims to raise funds to pay for the cost of tuition, music, and other necessary materials. The money raised by the campaign will also go towards supporting the tuition of students who cannot afford the full tuition. This fundraiser is essential for EYSO to continue providing music, scholarships, and other valuable resources. In addition, the tuition each student pays to participate in the orchestra only covers one-third of the cost needed to pay for the entire year. Running these fundraisers helps keep the tuition affordable and makes sure that everyone can play in the orchestra.

I have been playing the cello since I was four, and this is my third year in EYSO. Currently, we are working on amazing pieces that I love a lot, one of them being Waltz No.2 by Shostakovich. Playing with the orchestra makes all the practicing worth it. I love being with friends who understand what it is like to play a stringed instrument, and it is really fun to play with the group every week.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read this letter, and I hope you consider donating to EYSO!
