$375 towards $175

The Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit, multi-level, youth orchestra program that is designed for students of all talents. This is my third year in the program, and I am a cellist in the Philharmonia orchestra.

Growing up I played piano, and started cello in fourth grade, but I have always loved orchestral music. So when I heard about EYSO, it was an almost immediate decision to audition, and I can say that through my three years of experience, it was the right one. In my ensemble, we have played all types of music, from Aaron Copeland’s “An Outdoor Adventure” to themes from Howl’s Moving Castle. It has been so fun being a part of this ensemble, and I can’t wait for the continuation of my orchestra career in high school.

The EYSO NOTES program is an annual fundraising campaign. Our goal is to raise $56,450 in total, with every member raising at least $175 each. The purpose of the campaign is to keep tuition affordable for everyone. With your donations, we are also able to play great music like the ones I mentioned and more, as well as continue to rehearse and perform at Elgin Community College. This orchestra program lets hundreds of musicians share their talent with the world and each other. I ask that you please take the time to donate, even just a little; every dollar counts. Please consider donating to help us reach our goal, but really to benefit all of the student musicians in EYSO, including myself. The deadline for donations is May 5, 2024. Once the campaign is completed, you will receive a donation acknowledgement from EYSO for tax purposes.

Thank you for your support!
