Hello, my name is Kathryn Davison, and I am in the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestras (EYSO). I play string bass in the Sinfonia Orchestra. Right now, we are doing our annual financial campaign called the Notes Campaign.
Playing in the EYSO has been a great experience. Taking part in the Sinfonia Orchestra has challenged my playing abilities and has made me a better bassist. Sinfonia has done this by improving my counting, dynamics, and overall playing style. I have enjoyed playing with such talented and focused musicians. Our concert theme for the year has not only exposed me to composers and pieces I would otherwise not have had the opportunity to play, but has educated me on the role of music in the community. I have been exposed to artists such as Mozart, Sullivan, and Borodin.
The Notes Campaign helps supplement the entrance fee for every musician throughout the EYSO organization. I know that you are asked to support many worthy organizations and causes throughout the year, and I appreciate you considering a small financial gift to the EYSO through the Notes Campaign.
I have included a link to my member pages on the EYSO website where you can make a tax-deductible donation. We have been asked to have all donations collected by May 4, 2024, at the latest.
