$1,050 towards $400

Hello, my name is Lauren Hermany, and I've been playing bass for about half a year with Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestras (EYSO). EYSO is collecting donations as part of our annual fundraising campaign: NOTES. This campaign runs from March 24 to May 5. We as an organization have a big goal of $56,450, the purpose NOTES being to help keep the tuition affordable for all aspiring young musicians in the program, such as myself. If you may find yourself asking; why should I donate? To that I say, I have an answer. To me, although I have not been a part of EYSO for a long while, the 5 main orchestras and a few other ensembles are here to provide a chance for young musicians to do what they long to do; play music. It's more than just playing with a bunch of other kids, it's forming a sense of community with the people you play with. It is a really cool thing, when you think about it, that there are opportunities for students to play in an orchestra with people who are as equally passionate about music as you are. By supporting the NOTES campaign, you are helping to support this idea, that has really become a reality, of playing with other people who share the same passion as you do. The tuition only covers about one-third of the total cost of each member’s participation in EYSO, so donating can help keep that tuition affordable. In addition to offsetting the cost of tuition, these donations help pay for the directors, the people that help run concerts, to be able to play more music, and much more. You can donate online by credit card via my campaign page (visit eyso.org/notes-2024, select Sinfonia, and scroll to find my name) or mail a check to me directly. Once the NOTES campaign is completed, you will receive a donation acknowledgement from EYSO for tax purposes. Even if you choose not to donate, you can (and should) come to our next concert on May 12. Thank you for any and all support!
