NOTES 2024: Board of Directors

This is my EYSO story.

I am a third year board member and parent of a 2023 EYSO graduate. This is my 9th year being involved with EYSO, but I didn't get really active in volunteering until the Fall of 2020.

During the pandemic, thanks to the dedication, creativity, and hard work from the staff, students, and parent volunteers, EYSO was able to have in person Sunday rehearsals. EYSO was the one thing my daughter was able to rely on during a time when everything else was so unknown. This one thing every week helped her get through the pandemic. This was the beginning of me getting involve and the reason why I still am: the dedication, creativity, and hard work of the staff, students, and EYSO community.

Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestras is collecting donations as part of our annual fundraising campaign: NOTES 2024. This campaign runs from March 24 to May 5, 2024.

Tuition covers only one-third of the total cost of each member’s participation in EYSO. Our NOTES campaign helps keep tuition reasonable and offsets program costs.

Now in our 48^th season, EYSO serves nearly 400 students in 4th grade through college from 70 different communities via five orchestras, as well as percussion ensembles, Brass Choir and Flute Choir, and a thriving Chamber Music Institute. The mission of EYSO is to create a community of young musicians, enriching their lives and the lives of their families, schools, communities, and beyond, through the study and performance of excellent music.
