My name is Ella and this is my first year playing violin in the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra. This summer we can travel to and play in New York City and Boston. To help support us for our upcoming trip we are collecting donations for our annual NOTES fundraising campaign. The campaign runs from January 22 to March 26 and we aim to raise $54,500. It sounds like a lot, but if we all pitch in and help we can reach our goal to afford to be able to grow as young musicians. This past year of EYSO has meant so much to me. I learned so much from our weekly rehearsals. Life lessons are taken away from the simplest experiences. I made a lot of new friends and have had so much fun growing and learning new things with them. These experiences have shaped me as a musician and a person. NOTES is a perfect way to help me continue to grow as a young musician. NOTES doesn’t only help with our upcoming trip, it goes into providing music for us to play at concerts, support our leaders in their education, and reach our goals of being able to support our community through music.
