The EYSO is collecting donations as part of our annual fundraising campaign: NOTES. This campaign runs from January 23 to March 27.

The purpose of the campaign is to help keep tuition affordable for EYSO members by encouraging EYSO families to collect donations from friends, family, co-workers, neighbors--and you! All contributions to the EYSO are tax deductible, as allowable by law.

Would you, or someone you know, be willing to donate to EYSO?

This year, we are celebrating our 46th season with the theme FLIPPED! We have five orchestras, a brass choir, two percussion ensembles, a flute choir and a chamber music program with nearly 300 students from fourth grade through college. The mission of EYSO is to create a community of young musicians, enriching their lives and the lives of their families, schools, communities, and beyond, through the study and performance of excellent music. By supporting the NOTES campaign, you are impacting the lives of so many, including myself. You can learn more about us at EYSO.org.

Tuition covers only one-third of the total cost of each member’s participation in EYSO. Our NOTES campaign helps keep tuition reasonable and offsets program costs.

In addition to offsetting the cost of tuition, the generosity of people like you also helps to:

  • Provide a more diverse repertoire of music.
  • Purchase necessary resources including sheet music and instruments.
  • Allows EYSO to have a broader reach by offering innovative community programs.

Please consider donating to EYSO to help Youth Symphony meet its goal. More importantly, it will help benefit all student musicians in EYSO.

As a student in EYSO, I have not only grown as a musician, being able to take on the advanced and rigorous preparation of some of the most magnificent pieces of music ever written, but also as a human being. This art requires an unbelievable focus and attention to detail, and sometimes during rehearsals with other groups, I feel tired and possibly bored with the repertoire. My experience in EYSO is as far from this as can be stated in words. The depth and refinement of the material EYSO commits to is very challenging during the practicing process, but at the same time extraordinarily rewarding and fulfilling after the final performance. Even when I may be tired and fatigued from long rehearsals, my desire for musical expression within the intricate and complex repertoire EYSO provides overrides those feelings and allows me to be at my absolute best as a musician.

That is only the musical aspect of EYSO, and I cannot even begin to comment on the friendships and connections I have formed as a member of EYSO, along with the growth as a person from being able to utilize my creative and abstract thinking abilities. There is equally as much beyond EYSO (if not more) than there is just to the concrete youth orchestra experience, and I hope that this opportunity can continue to be offered to generations past my own.

Once the NOTES campaign is completed, you will receive a donation acknowledgement from EYSO for tax purpose. The campaign concludes on Sunday, March 27.

Thanks very much for your support!
