$635 towards $500

Hi there! My name is Mina Chang, and if you didn’t already know, music is such an integral part of my life. I am currently in all the instrumental ensembles available to me at my school plus numerous other ensembles outside of school. I play five instruments: violin, horn, trumpet, piano, and viola, four of which I play regularly in ensembles. EYSO is the ensemble that is nearest and dearest to my heart. I have participated in it since I was in fourth grade! If you’ve donated to EYSO in the past, thank you so much! I really appreciate your support for something that means a lot to me. If you’re new to EYSO, welcome! If you don’t know, EYSO stands for Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Our 2022 Notes campaign is officially underway, and I couldn’t be more excited.

This season, our 46th, is called “flipped”! Currently, we are exploring what happens when things are not what they should be. We have five orchestras, a brass choir, two percussion ensembles, and a chamber music program with nearly 300 students from fourth grade through college. We perform three concerts each year, and each concert explores a different connection between music and the various facets of our world. You can learn more about us at EYSO.org.

EYSO is a great organization. Nowhere else would I be able to play something as grand as Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony. I love being able to play with so many other musicians who are even more talented than I and just as passionate. When we perform, you can feel the love, energy, and time that our musicians put into the pieces. I really do enjoy playing in this ensemble.

Tuition covers only one-third of the total cost of each member’s participation in EYSO. Our NOTES campaign helps keep tuition reasonable to allow this opportunity to be more accessible for young musicians and offsets program costs.

Please consider donating to EYSO to help us to keep this amazing organization alive.

You can donate online by credit card via my campaign page or mail a check to me directly. Once the NOTES campaign is completed, you will receive a donation acknowledgement from EYSO for tax purposes. As a reminder, the campaign runs until March 27th, so be sure to get your donations in!

Thank you so much for your support!

Love,

Mina
