The orchestra that I belong to, Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO), is holding a fundraiser to help support our tuition and to raise awareness of the orchestra.
I have been playing the cello since I was 4 years old, and being in an orchestra has improved my level of playing. The music we play might be harder than I am used to, but the playing itself is easier. When I play in an orchestra I am able to find my mistakes faster. Playing in an orchestra has made me a better cellist, and I love the music more and more.
EYSO is important to me, because without it I would not be able to play some of the things we play, like Hungarian Dance No.5 and Red Pepper. During the time I have been with EYSO I have made many valuable friends, and orchestra is one of the highlights of my week. I enjoy EYSO, because I have fun while playing music with other kids my age. One of my favorite parts of orchestra is hearing the harmony and melody of a piece played together.
EYSO’s job is to spread awareness of our music and to educate young musicians. Please consider donating to this cause. Thank you for your consideration and taking time out of your day to read this letter.
