$220 towards $200

The Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit organization designed to aid musicians who want to further connect with their skills and abilities. We have five orchestras, a brass choir, two percussion ensembles, a flute choir, and a chamber music program with nearly 300 students from fourth grade through college. We are collecting donations for NOTES, EYSO's annual fundraiser which runs from January 23 to March 27.

My involvement in EYSO started this past summer in July when I attended their week-long chamber music camp. We were at the camp for 8.5 hours each day, but it ended up being so incredibly enjoyable. I was put into a quartet with my friend and two other people I didn't know. Within two days it felt like we had known each other forever. The bonds everyone made there were so special and I now am able to be a part of Sinfonia with the people that I was in the quartet with. The staff at EYSO are so understanding and it is a very welcoming environment. You never feel unwelcome or judged which is definitely a rare thing. EYSO really pushes me to be better and understand what it is about the viola and music that makes it so special.

This year, each member is encouraged to raise at least $175, so we can reach our goal to raise $54,850. When you donate to NOTES, you are supporting me, my colleagues, the staff, and everyone else involved in EYSO. It would mean a lot to everyone here if you donated to the organization. All contributions to the EYSO are tax-deductible, as allowable by law. Once the NOTES campaign is completed, you will receive a donation acknowledgment from EYSO for tax purposes.

Appreciatively,

Teagan Hagemeyer
