As you may know, I am in Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra. EYSO is an orchestra for advanced orchestra students. This year, I am in Philharmonia. One thing that I like about EYSO is that this year, we are playing the normal amount of time with only one break. While we are still wearing masks, the time that we play isn’t broken up as much as it was last year. Another thing that I enjoy this year is our music. I really enjoy the difficulty and type of music that we have been playing, so far. Mr. Krempa is a great conductor and I’ve learned a lot from him. While I enjoy playing in this orchestra, EYSO’s tuition only covers about 1/3 of all expenses. The Notes campaign is a fundraiser to help pay for those expenses, which include practice spaces and music. We write notes to get notes so that we can play notes. This year, the collective goal for EYSO is to raise $54,850, which means that if each person raised $175 we would reach that goal. My personal goal is to raise $200. I hope that you consider donating so that we can continue playing in EYSO.
