Hello!

My name is Eric Bahena Figueroa and I currently play bassoon with the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, an organization that provides students with a quality orchestral music education.

As some of you may know, I have always had a strong love for orchestra music and playing the bassoon. What some of you may not know is that every Sunday, I get to participate in a full orchestra rehearsal and make some truly amazing music. To me, the music is one thing, but the incredible since of community is even better and is a strong reason as to why I have struck with the organization throughout my current gap year.

Every year since I have been with the EYSO (since my freshman year in high school!), I have always, always, believed in the purpose and values of both the organization and this fundraiser. The fundraiser is built upon the idea that we "write our notes, to receive notes, so that we (continue) playing notes" or, more plainly put, "write notes, to get notes, to play notes". And this year is no different. If anything, this year is more important to me because EYSO has so kindly provided me a space to continue to play in an orchestra even after having graduated high school.

The NOTES campaign is one that serves such an amazing purpose and it would mean the absolute world to me if you would considering a contribution. One of any size, as every single dollar counts, in this case! I have provided you with this link so that if you wanted to see your (potential) contributions in action, you may, and you might even hopefully be compelled to come out to our March 13th concert, titled For Every Action...!

I truly thank you for a) reading this longer blurb or text on a screen, and for b) taking the time to contribute to a cause that means so much to so many.
