As you may know, I am in EYSO. EYSO is a group for advanced orchestra students. This year I am in Sinfonia. One thing that I like about EYSO is that, even though this year is different, EYSO has been trying to make this year as normal and as safe as possible. This year, we are practicing for the same amount of time as any other year, but to keep us healthy, there is a 15 minute break every 30 minutes of playing to sanitize the rooms. Another thing that I enjoy about this year is that Sinfonia has three conductors. The original conductor can’t be at EYSO all the time, so the other conductors from Philharmonia and Youth Symphony come in at different times to help conduct us. This allows us to see and play the music differently. This also helps us focus on different details in the music. EYSO allows me to grow in music. However, EYSO’s tuition only covers about 1/3 of all expenses. Notes is a fundraiser to help pay for those expenses, which include practice spaces and music. We write notes to get notes so that we can play notes. This year, the collective goal for EYSO is to raise $55,000, which means that if each person raised $175 we would reach that goal. My personal goal is to raise $250. I hope that you consider donating to EYSO so that we can continue playing in EYSO.
