Hi! My name is Neela Myers. I am a freshman in high school and this is my first year in EYSO. After auditioning, I had the honor to be placed in the Sinfonia ensemble for the 2020-2021 concert cycle, Myths & Legends. We rehearsed in person for the first time during fall camp outside and socially distant, with everyone’s face covered in masks. Even though we were physically spaced, our ensemble immediately connected as we adapted to playing several feet apart. From that moment, I knew Sinfonia was where I belonged and we would have an impactful season together. Since then, our ensemble has met regularly during joyous, productive, welcoming rehearsals as EYSO has created an inclusive and enthusiastic environment. I have found an open-minded group of friends that continues to grow and talk outside of our Sunday rehearsals. As I see my excited, grateful friends every week I realize we were able to meet and play music together thanks to donations from generous EYSO families and community members. Please consider helping our ensemble and future generations of EYSO members so we can continue to play music and build true friendships through this marvelous organization.

This year, we are celebrating our 45th season with the theme Myths & Legends! We have five orchestras, a brass choir, two percussion ensembles, and a chamber music program with nearly 300 students from fourth grade through college. We perform three concerts each year, and each concert explores a different connection between music and movement. You can learn more about us at EYSO.org.
Tuition covers only one-third of the total cost of each member’s participation in EYSO. Our NOTES campaign helps keep tuition reasonable and offsets program costs.

Once the NOTES campaign is completed, you will receive a donation acknowledgment from EYSO for tax purposes. The campaign runs until March 28.
