Donate to NOTES 2021 today!

Hello! I hope that you are staying healthy and having a much better 2021 than the year that must not be named. As you may know, I play the oboe in the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO). I’m writing this because the EYSO is collecting donations as part of our annual fundraising campaign: NOTES. This campaign helps keep tuition affordable for EYSO members by encouraging EYSO families to collect donations from friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors--meaning you! All contributions to the EYSO are tax deductible, as allowable by law. Would you, or someone you know, be willing to donate?

This year, EYSO is celebrating their 45th season with the theme Myths & Legends! They have five orchestras, a brass choir, two percussion ensembles, and a chamber music program with nearly 300 students from fourth grade through college. We perform three concerts each year, and each concert explores a different connection between music and movement. You can learn more about this at EYSO.org.

I joined EYSO last year as a Junior in high school, and I have had the best experience ever in the Youth Symphony orchestra. From day one of rehearsals, I made so many new friends that share my love and passion for music, and it means so much to me as a musician to be able to practice and rehearse in person (even with restrictions) during this crazy time. The caliber of music that we play is fantastic, and I have found new inspiration in practicing and studying music to make the pieces we play as musical and perfect as possible. Every rehearsal is such a fulfilling experience, I look forward to it all week long and I am just so grateful to be a part of it. This orchestra means so much to me which is why I’m reaching out to you to ask if you would be willing to help support it.
