It's nearly been a year since our team had to dramatically shift the avenues in which we use to create community, educate students and essentially operate as a whole. In the spring, we embarked on zoom rehearsals and a virtual concert that sucked the life out of a few team members, then breathed it back into them upon seeing the finished product. The summer was full of creating protocols, editing protocols, revising protocols some more, changing schedules, shifting rehearsal spaces and finally onto planning. Our 2020-21 season kicked off in the fall. That first day, was like stumbling on a spring of living water after walking through a desert. Not the kind that just quenches your thirst, but the kind that restores you enough to keep walking back to your homeland. We needed it in order to continue on our journey. Then in the winter, we successfully held our very first livestreamed concert after 2 months of planning.

It's almost the end of January now and we have just kicked off our second semester of rehearsals and our annual NOTES fundraiser. We're making it, step by step, but we can't carry on without our community. It really does take a village.

No donation is too small. Every donation is meaningful in helping create community for a current or future EYSO student. Join me in saying thank you to the ones who fearlessly forged the path, and help our organization carry on as we continue on this journey.

EYSO students (and staff!) are collecting donations as part of our annual NOTES fundraising campaign. This campaign runs from January 24 to March 28. The purpose of the campaign is to help keep tuition affordable for EYSO members by encouraging EYSO families to collect donations from friends, family, co-workers, neighbors--and you! All contributions to the EYSO are tax deductible, as allowable by law.

This year, we are celebrating our 45th season with the theme Myths & Legends! We have five orchestras, a brass choir, two percussion ensembles, and a chamber music program with nearly 300 students from fourth grade through college. Students perform three concerts each year, and each concert explores a different connection between music and movement. You can learn more about us at EYSO.org.

Tuition covers only one-third of the total cost of each member’s participation in EYSO. Our NOTES campaign helps keep tuition reasonable and offsets program costs.

Once the NOTES campaign is completed, you will receive a donation acknowledgement from EYSO for tax purposes. The campaign runs until March 28.
